Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs
This is known as ‘Blood Stagnation’ in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and is characterised by stabbing pain in the abdomen but can also lead to nausea, headaches, a rise in temperature and failure to conceive. Both acupuncture and Chinese herbs work well for this and we have treated many patients successfully. Ideally Acupuncture would be given weekly for about two cycles and then, depending on progress, just before the period until all symptoms have disappeared.
Nutrition and Western Herbal Medicine
In nutrition and western herbal philosophy, we approach endometriosis as an inflammatory condition, usually related to oestrogen dominance. Diet is a major tool in improving symptoms such as pain, discomfort, IBS symptoms and fatigue and some simple dietary changes can make a big difference. Using herbal medicines and nutritional supplements, we help the body to break down excess oestrogens and eliminate them from the body, whilst also helping to reduce inflammation and pain.
