Chinese Herbal Medicine is good for:

fertility and gynaecological conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, irregular menstrual cycle and heavy or very painful periods. Chinese herbs are very useful for women with short and light periods and for women over 35 who are trying to conceive as well as men with low motility or morphology. They can help in cases of sub-clinical hypothyroid and low progesterone or oestrogen.

About Chinese Herbal Medicine

Often, the addition of Chinese Herbal Medicine means that acupuncture sessions can be more widely spaced and this can be a very cost-effective way of improving your condition.  Our acupuncturists and herbalists work closely together to ensure the patient is getting a unified treatment and we regularly review patient notes and progress.

All of the herbs have been used for centuries in China and the surrounding countries, and today we base our therapy in that traditional knowledge. It is important that you are treated by a practitioner who has trained to a high standard, is a member of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM) and complies with the UK laws. These laws have banned the use of ingredients which come from endangered animals or minerals. Chinese Herbal Medicine is never given alongside IVF or hormonal drugs such as Chlomid (Chlomifene). All our patients stop taking herbs before they take their first IVF drug.

Many patients are keen to learn more about the herbs in their prescription and we can talk you through which herbs are involved and their pharmaceutical uses.  Herbs come in the form of a very fine powder which is mixed with water and drunk.
