Alan is a fully qualified Classical Five Element Acupuncturist. He graduated from the College of Traditional Acupuncture (UK) with a Licentiate in Acupuncture. In 1998 he was a faculty member of the College of Traditional Acupuncture (Glasgow). He is a member of the British Acupuncture Council and the Acupuncture Fertility Network.
Alan has been the in-house Acupuncturist at Napiers clinic for the past 13 years and has helped many couples with their fertility.
What Alan finds exciting about using Acupuncture in helping fertility is it can be used alongside Western medicine, so patients can receive the kind of care that treats them as a whole person. This means taking into consideration the many different facets that make us who we are. Physical symptoms are important, but so are the emotions, professional demands, relationships, beliefs, strengths and weaknesses that can so often lie beneath symptoms and that make up our own unique characteristics.
