Yoga is the perfect exercise to prepare your body and mind for becoming pregnant. This Yoga for Fertility programme is designed to nourish the reproductive organs, to calm the nervous system and to promote deep relaxation.

Research tells us that stress is a major contributing factor to fertility problems in both men and women. Yoga can ease the emotional tensions that can cause physical blocks, aid conception and help you to cope more serenely.

Deep self awareness is the essence of yoga; it can help you face the challenges of trying to conceive naturally or of using assisted conception. As you stretch and breathe you will be living more fully in the here and now while creating a wonderful sense of well-being.

Yoga uses three complementary techniques:

  • Postures – are designed to increase blood flow to the pelvis as well as to improve your flexibility
  • Breathing techniques – will help you to relax deeply
  • Meditation techniques – aim to reduce stress and anxiety and can help to create a positive and open frame of mind.

Each week we will practice different postures and I will teach breathing, visualisation and meditation techniques. At the end of the 6-week programme you will have a system of exercise which you can continue to practise at home.

Yoga for Fertility will complement any other treatment you are having and is gentle enough to be followed while on an assisted conception programme. The programme is suitable for those new to yoga as well as experienced students.
